Client feedback
What our students and clients at Drop-Ins say about Computer Friendly
We let our students and clients at our Drop-In Centres speak for us. Here is some recent feedback:
- “It went at my pace allowing me to learn rather than become confused and discouraged”
- “Thanks to the tutor, he has loads of patience and is very helpful”
- “Thank you. The course has been a great help to me. My knowledge has increased and my confidence has too”
- “I believe every person could gain by going on the course”
It’s never too late
One of our students wrote this on the computer:
“I am in my ninety third year and when I told a younger acquaintance that I had signed up for a Computer Friendly Beginners course, he laughed and suggested that I had left it a bit late! I could only agree. Over the years my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, had all urged me to rectify my ignorance but I dithered, couldn’t make up my mind, afraid of change, not unusual the older you get. Then one morning I said to myself, you did nearly six years in the Army so what on earth are you afraid of, computers can do you no harm.
The same day I saw an advert in the local paper regarding the Computer Friendly Drop-In Centre, so I ‘dropped in’! The chap there asked me what I knew about computers and when I said ‘nothing’, he said I was just the sort of person they were looking to help. There and then I signed up for Computer for Beginners, a five week program made up of five 2 hour sessions. The two Tutors were extremely helpful and with the aid of a workbook, soon had us using the mouse, learning how to ‘drag & drop’ and use a program called ‘Paint’. Towards the end of the five weeks I had managed to type a letter, create a list of addresses and produce a certificate which confirmed I had satisfactorily completed the course.
With my first course under my belt I am planning to complete the Internet & Email course, I am only sorry I didn’t enrol sooner, it’s never too late to learn a new skill.”
From the Computer Friendly team:
“Thank you all for your kind words. It is great for us to know we have made a difference”
Elizabeth came to our Fleetville Community Centre Drop-In Centre to say, “I would just like to thank the wonderful volunteers at Computer Friendly for their patience and time when I brought in my very unresponsive laptop recently. I am so pleased to have it up and running again and am very grateful for all the help I was given. I will certainly recommend Computer Friendly to anyone else experiencing computer-related problems! Many thanks”
Linda popped into the drop in at Skew Bridge Pub Drop-In Centre to say how helpful it was, that she got everything she needed and how impressed she was with the service. She asked for her thanks to be passed on.
